Jilly's Birthday Dinner

We met everyone for dinner at Chuys' to celebrate Jill last year in her 20s. We are usually so busy during the week that it was a treat to see everyone.

Me and Mom
Avery wanted to sit next to Peyton.
Peyton wanted to eat Avery's hair,
Avery said it was because her hair was beautiful and straight.

She thought it was hilarious.
Peyton LOVES Avery. If Avery is around Peyton is mesmorized by her.

In My Sunday Best

All dressed up and ready for church! She didn't end up wearing the hat, because it was a little too Little House on the Prairie for me, but she is my little doll anyway!

Pictures

Saturday Gramsy, Peyton and I ventured to JC Penny to take P's 6 month pictures (a little late). She was soo great! They had a minor camera malfunction and Peyton just sat there and continued to smile for the photographer.

The zebra outfit was a bit over the top, but is she too cute or what?!?!?!

Callie

Peyton loves Callie...Callie is not so sure of Peyton.

"The Face", you can see her trying not to smile through it.

Callie is such a good dog. Peyton tried to pull out all off the fur on her face and had a grip on her eye and Callie never flinched.

It takes a Village

This past week has been a hard one, as a working Mom, it's hard to split your attention between a sick baby and the demands at work, plus the everyday events of a normal day. But we are sooo lucky to have the support system we do!

On Tuesday, after I had stayed home and we went to the Dr office, both Grandmas came over to help and I sure needed it, because P was throwing up and just overall very fussy. That night Ethan and I took turns letting Peyton sleep on our chests.

On Wednesday, Gramsey stayed home from work and watched Peyton and once we got home, we were greeted by Nana, Aunt Donna, and Aunt Chrissy. They had come to check on poor P and Aunt Donna had made us a chicken spaghetti (a personal favorite of mine). We had another very rough night Wed, but it appeared the worst was over so Peyton returned to daycare on Thursday.

Well I was wrong becuase while there, Peyton only had 1 bottle for the whole day and she was refusing all liquids. I was worried that if we didn't get her to eat/drink something soon we would be spending the night at TX Childrens. After a quick call to the Dr and Aunt Jilly I was determined to get her to drink something. Gramsey and PaPaw came by becuase by then I was going on 3 days of less than 5 hours of sleep. I hadn't been that tired since P was days old. After some coaxing, she finally drank a few ounces of Pedilyte and 3/4 of a bottle. She finally had a good night's sleep, which we both REALLY needed.

Friday PaPaw cancelled his fishing trip to watch Peyton so she could get some extra TLC and rest. I ended up leaving work early, so I could take her back to the doctor's office, because the medicine they had prescribed before didn't seem to be helping. The Doctor said her ear infection had turned severe and must have been resistent to Augmentin. Poor baby was in horrible pain, but she was a trooper. They gave her a quick shot and another prescription and finally was able to get some relief. Friday night Nana came by to check on her girl, Peyton went to bed on time. And for the first time all week had a good night sleep.

I am so grateful for all of the help we had, and all this is not counting the emails and texts I got from other family and friends to check on Peyton and see how we were doing.

Even with a sick baby at home, I can not help but feel blessed and a little overwelmed by how much everyone loves this little girl.

Sick Baby

When I picked up Peyton from school on Monday, she wasn't her normal cheery self and after reading her daily sheet and realizing she hadn't eaten for most of the day but rather napped (which is NOT like my P-nut) and a quick check of her temperature and it was confirmed I had a sick chick on my hands. We went to the Dr office on Tues and she has double ear infections, again. This is the 3rd time in less than 2 1/2 months. Poor baby!!!

We got home and took some medicine and she slept on my chest for most of the day. That evening her temperature went up really high (103 degrees) and she started vomitting. Luckily, Gramsey and Nana were there because they stopped by after work to check on her so I had some help. Each time she's been really sick, I have been so lucky that there are Grandmas nearby that have come to my aid to help.

Waiting to get her medicine

Still Smiling while we wait for the Doctor

(check out those flushed cheeks and glassy eyes...)

This is not my normal P :(

Last night she had a hard time going to sleep. She spent the first half of the night asleep on my chest, and the second half asleep on Ethan's. I am ready for the antibiotic to kick in and for my happy baby to come back!!!!

The Face

This weekend Peyton learned to make "the face."

Once she realized it got a laugh, she wouldn't stop.

Even with "the face" she is still too cute!!
