Registering

I have been researching and looking up all the items that we will need for Peyton. We choose to register at Babies 'R Us and Target. I started to get overwelmed by the number of products and brands they have for baby items.

It's funny, everyone I talk to has a different opinion on what is considered essential for a newborn. I guess we are just going to have to register for it all and see what works best for us. I am lucky that I have people around me that I can ask all of my random questions about brands and products and what I should be looking for. I'm learning that I can't anticipate all of the things that she will need, but I'm going to do my best to try and have lots of help on speed dial.

Preparing for Peyton

We have been spending almost all of our free time preparing and anticipating the arrival of Peyton. From picking out the crib and bedding to registering and painting her room, out focus on the weekend is to accomplish something to prepare for her arrival.

We placed an order for her crib and furniture, and I can not wait to get it in our house. When we found out, we were having a girl, I immediately had a vision of what I wanted in the room, then we went furniture shopping, came across this bedroom set and the vision changed.

I love the look and the details in the furniture. It is more traditional than I originally thougfht I would like, but I couldn't help but fall in love with all of the pieces.

Next came the bedding, Jill had actually sent me this site as soon as we found out about her. I can't wait for the actual bedding to come in and to see her initials monogrammed in the pink fabric.

We started the priming the room that we selected for the nursery. When we first moved into the house, one of the selling points was the neutral tones throughout the house. We wouldn't have to repaint any of the main rooms. But only one of the bedrooms was out of the color scheme. The people before us painted the room an electric blue. The room was so blue after a coat of thick coverage primer, it was just a paler version of itself. But we are still working on it and by the end it will be a perfect shade of pink. And then we can bring in the furniture and bedding and start putting her nursery together.
