21814 Mileham Lane

We put the house on the market a few weeks ago, and we accepted an offer last weekend, pending approvals and inspection, 21814 Mileham Lane will no longer be ours. It hasn't been home for a few months, since Peyton and I have been living with my Mom,but even still this is a bitter sweet moment for me. Although, I am excited to not have a mortgage for the time being, I will always love this house. There are so many memories here, but by far the best was bringing home P! I suppose this is just the natural stages to go through when you are getting divorced, so it is a bit confusing to feel sad but free at the same time.
But for every piece that is saddened by selling this house, I know it is the right decision and I am excited to see where Peyton and I will eventually call home. Imagine all the girly possibilities and a plus side, not a single mounted animal on the wall! :)

The happiest day at 21814
So here's to the next journey....wherever that maybe!

The Things Kids Say!

Peyton has the funniest personality. I keep telling people she may look just like Ethan, but she is Rachel to the bone. I can't tell you the number of times I have had a conversation/argument with her and felt like I was arguing with myself. You never know what is going to come out of her mouth. So below are a few funniest off the top of my head.
  • She is very judgmental of my driving. I will never claim to be the best driver, but it doesn't help my confidence to be turning a corner and hear "Whoa, Baby!!" in the backseat. (I hear it constantly...).
  • She is very loving and is on a Best Friends kick. She will tell me, "Mommy, you're my Best Friend!" and my heart will just melt. And then 5 minutes later, she tells me "Macy's my Best Friend!" followed by a kiss for the dog. So I guess I know where I stand in the grand scheme of things.
  • She LOVES Dora! I mean, like LOVES her! So given that, if I tell her I am looking for something, she will help me find it, and then before she hands it to me, will throw it to the other side of the room and say "Betcha can't find it now!!" Thank you, Swiper the Fox!
  • Also thanks to Dora, I was driving and made the comment out loud that I didn't know which way to go, and P yells from the back "Just use a Map!
  • She can count from 1-10 in both English and Spanish, but when she applies to to actually count things gets messed up. I love catching her "counting things" and hear "One, Seben, Eleventeen, Fourteen..."
  • She has also developed the cutest Texas accent ever. Time Out has 4 syllables on it's own and Macy, Maggie, and Nana spend quite a bit of time there from P.
  • I asked P who the Prettiest Princess in the World was...her response, "Avery, but I Queen!" Yes, yes you are!!!
  • We were at Portofino shopping center one Saturday and I gave her a penny to throw into the fountain.  I explained that she needed to make a wish, so she closed her eyes very tight and then threw the penny in. When she opened them, I asked what she wished for, she responded, "More Money!" To which I proceeded to give her more... when she wished again, I asked again, and she wished for "Two Bananas!
Ready to Make a Wish!

It may not have been 2 Bananas, but she was happy all the same!!

Saturday in the Park

Whenever we are driving anywhere, if P even catches a glimpse of a playground or any kind of slide, all I hear is, "I wanna go to park, Mommy! or "Nana/Nene take me to park!" What can I say, this child LOVES the park. Well, Saturday was Uncle Daniel's (or Mister Daniel if you are P) birthday so we headed up to Borough's Park for some playground fun and hot dogs on the grill. Peyton and Kailtyn play so well together and P loves the slides so it was a perfect afternoon.

Can you see the excitement?
Sweet Kaitlyn
I'm pretty sure she went down the slide 100 times.

P was on squirrel watch and at any moment she spotted a
squirrel she would take off on a chase to catch it. She may never have
gotten close, but she was never discouraged....

No fear of any duck and even chased a few to catch them.
Kaitlyn kept a safe distance.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday, P stayed Saturday night with Daddy, Nene and PaPaw and came home Sunday morning to see what the Easter Bunny had left her and hunt more eggs!

The Easter Bunny made an appearance
(I'm pretty sure this is the last year I am going to get away with "re-using" some Easter treats...)

And left a bunch of "Dora" Eggs in the backyard

All dressed up for Easter

Look at that face!
