2 Months Old

On Tuesday, we went for Peyton's 2 month check up. Aunt Jilly came with us since Peyton was getting shots and I was a little nervous about it. Once we got there Peyton was being her usual calm self and she handled the shots with minimal screaming. Dr. Irani was concerned about a ridge she felt on Peyton's skull on her right side, so she sent us to St. Lukes in the Woodlands where TX Children's has a floor for X-rays. Peyton was a trooper while I did my best to remain calm. We got a call back from the Dr saying that although there is a ridge, the peices have not fused together so that is a very good thing. We are monitoring her and keeping her from only laying on her right side, which is not as easy as it sounds. She loves her right side and always somehow manages to wiggle her way back to it, so I usually end up making her mad when I move her back. We will be following up with the Dr to see what we need to do to make it better.

She know weighs 11 lbs even.
She is in the 50th percentile for her weight.
She is now 23 in long, and is in the 78th percentile for length.
Her head circumference is 16 in around,
and is in the 90th percentile for head circumference.

Take 1 in the Chair....it didn't work so well.

Take 2 - Much better!!

Big beautiful blue eyes!!

  • Peyton is now smiling and cooing all the time.
  • She is happiest in the morning, usually after a feeding. She will lay there and giggle and smile for almost an hour. It's my favorite time of the day with her.
  • She loves bathtime and if she is fussy just the sound of the bathtub filling her up calms her.
  • She definitely loves her pacifier.
  • She is such a good sleeper, our nightly routine is she gets a bath around 6-7 pm, then she is fed and will nap and possibly be fussy until her next feeding between 10-11 pm, then she is is out until morning, which is usually around 7 am.
  • She is a snuggler and if I am rocking her, she will squirm her way deeper into the crook of my arm until her entire face is in buried in arm pit. I only know she is breathing by watching her chest rise and fall.

  1. She is such a gorgeous baby!!! Sorry about the ridge in her head, I'm sure it will all be fine! Graham does the same snuggly thing in my armpit, in fact he did that just about 5 minutes ago, haha :) Sounds like motherhood suits you wonderfully!! Do you stay home with Peyton?? We should meet up!! It would be so good to see you!!
